Single review: Tokyo Taboo – Leech

If you’re hungry like a puppy then London based Tokyo Taboo’s feisty pop punk is going to hit the spot. Musically this does not kick angst in the ass, like rock and metal, but it’s still a glorious racket, always a feminist protest, (compliment), with vocalist Dolly Daggerz spouting phrases like “It’s all about you!” (Narcissism) and the latest single Leech (“You’re a …”).  They’re captivating as performers, taking the TT brand out to play: bright, bold, free spirits, and trendier than us.

Leech: a bash over the head with a sticky candy bar. We wanna be scared but there’s no time.

What do you think?

By Phil Clarke (guitar, Year 1) and Ngaire Ruth
